5 Resolutions for 2008
Jan 4th, 2008 by Scott Hebert
Welcome to the first post of 2008! I’ve spent the last few days racking my brain for some good New Year’s Resolutions. To be honest, this isn’t something I usually do, but I’m going to give it a whirl. I’ve decided to limit myself to 5 resolutions, although I have no idea if that’s a high or low numbers.
Here’s what I’ve come up with:
- Write at least 1 Facebook application.
This is one of those things I’ve been telling myself to do for the last few months. In 2008, I want to write at least one Facebook application, no matter how crappy it is. - Double my blog readership.
When I first thought of this one, it seemed like a no brainer. But, the more I think about it, the less confident I feel. Anyway, here are the new goals for each site:
Heberts dot Net: 15 readers
Hynjoku: 15 readers
Slaptijack: 80 readers - Drop 30 pounds.
Totally cliché, totally necessary. - Shut down Praeter Technologies, Inc.
I incorporated Praeter in Dec, 1999. Unfortunately, I haven’t done anything other than fill out paperwork for the last 5 years. It’s time to shut down Praeter and move on. Heck, I don’t even have a domain or checking account anymore. - Read at least one book per month.
I used to be a prolific reader, but I’ve really started slacking off in the last year or so. I think 12 books in 12 months is completely doable.
What I like about these goals is that they are clearly measurable with no opportunity for wishi-washi-ness. I’ll keep you posted.
