Welcome to the first post of 2008! I’ve spent the last few days racking my brain for some good New Year’s Resolutions. To be honest, this isn’t something I usually do, but I’m going to give it a whirl. I’ve decided to limit myself to 5 resolutions, although I have no idea if that’s a high or low numbers.
Here’s what I’ve come up with:
- Write at least 1 Facebook application.
This is one of those things I’ve been telling myself to do for the last few months. In 2008, I want to write at least one Facebook application, no matter how crappy it is.
- Double my blog readership.
When I first thought of this one, it seemed like a no brainer. But, the more I think about it, the less confident I feel. Anyway, here are the new goals for each site:
Heberts dot Net: 15 readers
Hynjoku: 15 readers
Slaptijack: 80 readers
- Drop 30 pounds.
Totally cliché, totally necessary.
- Shut down Praeter Technologies, Inc.
I incorporated Praeter in Dec, 1999. Unfortunately, I haven’t done anything other than fill out paperwork for the last 5 years. It’s time to shut down Praeter and move on. Heck, I don’t even have a domain or checking account anymore.
- Read at least one book per month.
I used to be a prolific reader, but I’ve really started slacking off in the last year or so. I think 12 books in 12 months is completely doable.
What I like about these goals is that they are clearly measurable with no opportunity for wishi-washi-ness. I’ll keep you posted.
