Different Versions of Microsoft Office
Aug 2nd, 2008 by Scott Hebert
There are five different versions of Microsoft Office 2007: Home and Student, Standard, Small Business, Professional, and Ultimate. Each version includes a difference combination of Microsoft Office products (Microsoft Corporation, 2008a). Care and diligence must be taken to observe all the appropriate licensing agreements associated with the version of Microsoft Office you’ve purchased.
It’s interesting to note that the Home and Student version of Microsoft Office 2007 permits installation on up to three devices. This seems to be the most important difference in all the licensing agreements. The other licenses allow for an installation on a main computer and one portable device such as a laptop (Microsoft Corporation, 2008b). This is an interesting change in the licensing terms and obviously reflects the growing trend toward laptop ownership.
