New Shoes - Not Vans!
Jun 1st, 2008 by Scott Hebert
I like Vans. They look good, they feel good — they’re just good. Heck, I wore a pair of brown Vans to one of Emeril’s restaurants in New Orleans.
But my wife insists that I need to start wearing different shoes for different activities. For the last 15 years, I would have called that bunk, but in the last 6 months my knees have really started to feel the wear and tear of time (oh, and maybe some extra weight, bah).
So, it’s with much trepidation that I agreed to a pair of Saucony Men’s Grid Cohesion NX Running Shoes. Let me start off by saying that these shoes will see very little, if any, actual “running”. Otherwise, these are some comfy, if dorky, shoes. They are VERY VERY white, which looks really goofy on me. And they’re pointy — another strike.
Still, with the increased activities with the kids this summer, I’m willing to try something new if it will help me feel better in the long run. Don’t expect to see me out on the town with these silly things, though. I’ll keep you posted.
They don’t look dorky. I would not be seen with you if they were.
Please be careful and don’t look directly into the shoes, they are bright and shiny and will blind you.
