Space Heater = Toasty Goodness
Dec 17th, 2007 by Scott Hebert
I have finally convinced my wife that a space heater is not going to burn our house down.
During the winter months, we use our programmable thermostat to keep the house nice and warm when the family is here. During the days though, it drops down to 68° F. That doesn’t really sound very chilly, but you must realize that that’s 68° at the very center of our home. The outlying areas, which include my office, get quite chilly.
After several winters of aching finger joints, I finally have a space heater to keep my office (and any other random part of the house) warm.
And who do you think was the first person to take advantage of the increased warmth provided by the space heater? My wife, of course.
For the curious, we got a Honeywell Signature Series Model HZ-370GP. The features we required were a temperature setting, auto-shutoff, and the ability for the thing to fall-over and shut-off rather than starting an inferno. In addition, this thing oscillates to heat a larger area and lights up so you know it’s on. Like Buck Rogers!
Anyway, I’m pretty happy, not to mention toasty.
