Sydcor Enterprises, LLC
2004 - Present

Network Administrator:
My primary responsibility as the Network Administrator was to maintain Sydcor's production network. Additionally, I acted as the primary system administrator for Sydcor's Windows 2003 network. I designed and installed Sydcor's Windows 2003 web farm and SQL Server 2000 cluster. I implemented a Linux-based server and network monitoring solution. Other responsibilities included daily maintenance of Exchange 2000, file server management, network capacity monitoring, and phone system operation.

Core NAP, L.P.
2003 - 2004

Senior Manager, Server & Network Architecture:
As the Senior Manager, Server & Network Architecture, for Core NAP, L.P. (established January 2003), I was responsible for designing the entire server and network infrastructure for a business-class Internet Service Provider. Scalability and reliability were of utmost importance, and I was tasked with implementing every phase of the install; from design to implementation. I used a mixture of Red Hat Linux, Sun Solaris, and Windows 2003 Server to provide a myriad of services ranging from email to billing. The network was designed around Cisco routers and switches in the core with Alteon Layer 4 switches providing load-balancing and fail-over for all services.

Electronic Arts, Inc.
2003 - 2003

UNIX Administrator:
In this capacity, I acted as the UNIX Administrator for the Electronic Arts, Origin Systems, Web Group responsible for UO.com and other related sites. My main tasks included the administration of the various Solaris and Linux servers necessary to keep the various UO.com sites running and acting as the main Perl programmer for the web group. During my tenure as the UNIX Administrator, I was responsible for redesigning the server architecture behind the UO.com sites, porting the various UO.com tools to mod_perl, and maintaining the MySQL and Microsoft SQL Servers necessary to keep the site running.

Allegiance Telecom, Inc.
2001 - 2002

Contractor:
In this role, I have been tasked with handling various special projects including maintenance of custom SNMP-based monitoring software, integration of Network Attached Storage (NAS) into the legacy shared hosting environment, and initial preparation for porting of acquisition PRIs. My most important responsibility involved the auditing of contracts and invoices from the various telecommunications carriers utilized by the Austin Internet Data Center and, when necessary, raising and resolving disputes.

TheResidentClub, Inc.
2000 - 2001

Senior WAN Administrator:
As the Senior WAN Administrator, my responsibilities involved every aspect of network management for TheResidentClub's primary data center and consulting projects, including network design, procurement, installation, monitoring, and maintenance. In this position, I was also responsible for recommending hardware for the enterprise server environment. Due to my previous programming experience, I was also called upon to write and debug software related to the GMAC Private Label Web, as well as, the registration engine for the GMAC Dial-up service. In this capacity, I also acted as a project leader and mentor for the programming staff.

Jump.Net, Inc.
1998 - 2000

System Administration Manager:
My main tasks as System Administration Manager were to ensure that the System Administration department operated as efficiently as possible and to keep Jump.Net at the cutting edge of new technology and service. This included, but was not limited to, capacity planning, defining hardware/software requirements, recommending and procuring hardware/software, and project design, management and implementation. During this time, I reorganized the System Administration department into two sub-groups: Network and Server, designed the job descriptions to coincide with the newly created positions, and inserted existing personnel into the new organization. I was responsible for all human resources issues on a departmental level.

Project Manager:
As Project Manager, I oversaw projects designed by the Chief Technology Officer including managing resources among the various projects, mentoring Project Leads in proper project documentation and management, and overseeing the entire project life cycle. It was also in this capacity that I wrote the software package that Jump.Net's System Administration department uses for project tracking. In addition to these duties, I also maintained my own projects as a Systems Administrator.

Systems Administrator:
In this role, my primary responsibility was to maintain and enhance Jump.Net's server and network infrastructure. I was the primary administrator of Jump.Net's statewide network, which included egress connections with more than a dozen providers in 6 cities. My duties also included providing consulting services to customers on such issues as LAN/WAN, firewalls, computer systems and other equipment. I also worked with vendors and telecommunications companies to resolve defects and technical issues, as well as order new equipment and circuits as necessary.

Digital Mystix
1997 - 1998

System Administrator:
At Digital Mystix, I was the sole individual in charge of the LAN/WAN. I regularly performed the following duties: general maintenance of multi-Windows NT Server LAN, oversaw hosting of over 150 web-sites through MS Internet Information Server 3.0, set-up and maintained ISDN connections for clients utilizing three PRIs and Ascend MAX routers, oversaw implementation of new technologies, maintained MS Exchange Server 5.5, handled domain registration with Internic, and managed 4 Class C IP subnets.

Information Systems Administrator:
In this position, I was in charge of all computer- and information-related equipment. My main duties included every facet of network administration, from design to implementation to execution. Other duties included maintenance of the TMHC Web Site, development of training to enhance the staff's ability to use computers, integration of new technologies, and repair and maintenance of workstations and servers.
